First CSA Box-Rhubarb
We received our first CSA box from Double Rabbit Farm. The farm has had a tough spring and our first quarter share was a bit small, mostly greens. But there was enough rhubarb for this:
Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp.

I'm curious (or dumb), what's CSA? I read the farm website, I understand the context, but still...CSA?
CSA= Community Supported Agriculture.
Basically, before the farming year starts you buy a share. They can cost anywhere between 300-1000 dollars for a full share, less for partial shares. It is like buying stock in the farm. As they harvest the food, a large portion goes back to the shareholders. If they have a good year, you get a lot, if they don't, you get a little.
Most around here are organic and all are local, so good for the earth. And, we suspect we will come out ahead on food costs this summer if things take off at the farm.

there's an assload of rhubarb in my yard. feel free to grab some, unless kate has address the issue.
I'm glad you got to make something with it. It looks delicious! I love rhubarb. It's growing back again so perhaps we'll have even more to share!
